A Week of Connection and Growth
NAAW 2025 featured multiple events, including two virtual workshops and several in-person networking sessions with panel discussions and VR-powered soft skills training. Students had the opportunity to connect with employers, build self-advocacy skills to better prepare for the workplace and participate in immersive VR workshops.
In-Person Networking and Panel Discussion
Accessibility in Action Panel Discussion
Panelists shared insights on allyship, accessible design and strategies for creating inclusive workspaces. The discussion aimed to promote accessibility and inclusion in the workforce by connecting students, community members and employers to foster more supportive and equitable work environments.
VR-Powered Workshops
The VR workshops provided immersive, interactive sessions where students could practice real-world workplace scenarios in a safe and supportive environment. These workshops helped participants build practical skills, gain confidence in professional settings and explore workplace challenges in a hands-on, engaging way.
Networking with Employers
The networking sessions brought students together with employers and guest speakers for an afternoon of meaningful dialogue and connection. The event focused on building inclusive hiring pipelines, with industry professionals sharing strategies for creating accessible work environments.

Accessible Leadership: Disclosure and Advocating for Disability Inclusion in the Workplace
This workshop covered current trends in disability and employment across Canada, best practices for responding to disability disclosure in the workplace and practical strategies for advocating for inclusive policies and environments that support employees with disabilities.
Building your path: Post-secondary pathways to rewarding careers for students with disabilities
This session provided guidance on career planning, workplace accommodations and disclosure, offering tools to navigate these topics confidently. The workshop was done in collaboration with the Canadian Council on Rehabilitation and Work (CCRW) to highlight the importance of tailored supports and resources for students with diverse needs.
