Please be aware that the alternate test and exam centre at the Keele campus is currently managing a high volume of requests for accommodated tests and exams. We are working as quickly as possible to process requests for accommodated tests and exams and respond to all inquiries in a timely manner, however you may experience longer than usual wait times. Check our FAQs for the most up-to-date information.

Accessing your academic accommodations:

To access your academic accommodations in a course you must share a copy of your Letter of Accommodation with your course instructor using our secure Student Accessibility Services portal. You can share your letter as soon as your classes start (not before).

Accommodated In-Person Exams and Tests

In order to access an accommodated exam or test (as outlined in your Letter of Accommodation), you will need to submit a request form with Alternate Exam/Test Scheduling.

During the first two weeks of the term (September 4 – September 19) there is a grace period where requests can be submitted with less than 2 weeks notice.

You can submit all your accommodation requests at the beginning of the term when you receive the syllabus for your course(s).  You do not need to know the date of your official December exams to enter requests.

Email your Accessibility Counsellor or schedule a drop-in appointment via our eClass site. Drop-in is Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

You can submit documentation via our secure Student Accessibility Services portal's Document Upload feature.

Alternatively, you can bring your documentation into our office to be scanned and added to your file.

The name of your Accessibility Counsellor and their email address are listed on your Letter of Accommodation.

Check the portal again in a couple of business days. If your course instructor's information is still missing, please contact your Accessibility Counsellor.

No. Tests and exams will be written remotely in courses that are taking place remotely. You will not come to campus to write. Test and exam accommodations, such as additional time, will be put in place by your course instructor. Your test/exam accommodations are listed in the Letter of Accommodation.

If you missed the deadline to submit a request to Alternate Exam/Test Scheduling, you can:

  1. Write the test/exam with your class without academic accommodations or
  2. Speak with your professor about permission to write the test/exam at a later date.
