Scholarships, Awards & Bursaries
We're excited to make York’s Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships application (FAAS App) available to students! Fill out your Student Profile using the FAAS App.
All students are eligible for various scholarships, awards and bursaries offered by York. If you are actively involved, such as through volunteer work, leadership roles, extracurricular activities, community engagement and other achievements, there are opportunities you may be eligible for. A number of awards also do not require students to demonstrate financial need.
How to apply:
- Starting on August 17, 2026: Complete your Student Profile in York’s Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships application (FAAS App), which includes filling out a Need Assessment for the current study period. If you are a returning undergraduate student, a new Need Assessment needs to be completed for the current fall/winter term and/or summer term. If you are a returning graduate student, a new Need Assessment needs to be completed each fall term, winter term and summer term.
- Starting on October 2, 2026: Check the Funding Opportunities and the Draft Applications sections in the FAAS App for award opportunities that require supplementary information (i.e. personal statement, reference letter).
- Review the timelines on the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) Application webpage.
Note: Awards are subject to change and cancellations without prior notice.
How will I know if I have been selected to receive an award?
You will be notified by email if you have been selected to receive an award. You can also see your award statuses in the Applications section of the FAAS App. For insights into the FAAS App funding timelines, visit the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) Application webpage.
Funds from York’s scholarships, awards and bursaries are always applied directly to your York Student Account to your tuition and other student fees you owe.
