The Student Support & Advising (Registrarial Services) team is implementing a number of changes to improve how we handle student inquiries. Due to the transition, students reaching out to our offices will experience longer wait times and slower responses. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our student services.

Ways to connect with us

QLess/Zoom Live Connect - Hours of Operation:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

You must use QLess to connect with a Live Agent via Zoom.

Please read all of the instructions below:

How to use QLess:

QLess app

  1. Download the app on your smartphone from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  2. Open the app and search for Office of the University Registrar (OUR) at York University.
  3. Choose the queue called Office of the University Registrar (OUR) - Zoom - Virtual Service, Student Support and Advising.
  4. Enter your phone number.
  5. You will receive a text message (not an email) with a Zoom ID and password.
  6. Go to zoom.us/join and enter that Zoom ID and password to access the video call.

Web portal

If you cannot access the QLess app, then you can also join the queue through this web portal.

  1. Enter your first and last name and your phone number where a SMS text message can be received. Click the Next button.
  2. Optional: Enter your York student ID number. Click the Next button.
  3. Choose the queue called Zoom - Virtual Service, Student Support and Advising.
  4. You will receive a text message (not an email) with a Zoom ID and password.
  5. Go to zoom.us/join and enter that Zoom ID and password to access the video call.

Drop-in support is now available for students seeking answers to inquiries about accounts, financial aid, enrolment and admissions. Students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Note: For all OSAP inquiries, please ensure that you have uploaded your OSAP documents directly to your OSAP account.

Please note: We are currently experiencing high queue volumes on all our contact channels. We apologize for the delays as we continue to work to improve our student services.

How to use QLess:

  3. Choose the queue called Office of the University Registrar (OUR) - In-Person Service, Student Support and Advising.
  4. Enter your phone number where a SMS text message can be received.
  5. Once you are in the queue, you will receive an SMS text confirmation advising you to see one of our service desks. Completion of the YU Screening questionnaire is required.

Web portal

If you cannot access the QLess app, then you can also join the queue through this web portal.

  1. Enter your first and last name and your phone number where a SMS text message can be received. Click the Next button.
  2. Optional: Enter your York student ID number. Click the Next button.
  3. Choose the queue called In-Person Service, Student Support and Advising.

QLess Hours of Operation:

  • Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Fridays: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To assist with processing your inquiry, please take the following steps:

  • Provide the following information in your subject line: student number, first name, last name, re: (reason for your email)
    For example: 678456, John Doe, OSAP question
    • If you do not have a student number, include your date of birth instead
      For example: 21 June 2022, John Doe, OSAP question
  • Include your student number in all correspondence
  • Please do not resend your request multiple times or to multiple emails. Thank you for your patience as the team processes your request as soon as they can.

Please note:

  • Due to higher than usual volume our wait-times range from 20mins – 1 hour (optimal times are between 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.).
  • Please note: The ability to wait in a queue is not currently enabled. If all representatives are already on calls, you will hear a busy signal on the line. Please hang up and try again later.
