In February, advising colleagues from across the institution came together to celebrate a special milestone: the 10th anniversary of the community’s Annual YUAdvise Conference. For more than a decade, teamwork, persistence and a shared vision have enabled lasting impact and meaningful outcomes.
Impact the Student Journey

In February, the BE YU and ACMAPS teams collaborated to offer the first roundtable discussion about the Black mature student experience at York. Panelists shared personal stories and insights on the unique challenges and triumphs they encounter(ed) during their academic journey.

The Division of Students partnered with the McCall MacBain Foundation to support students with an info session. Participants learned about the scholarship, how to apply and asked FAQ. 2 York McCall MacBain finalists shared their experience with the application process and regional interviews.

Since SAVY's generative AI transformation, SAVY has most frequently answered the following student questions:
- How do I access my student financial profile?
- Academic advising referrals?
- How do I drop a course?
- I need help with my transfer credit.
- How do I apply to graduate?

York students are invited to join popular and effective workshops from universities and colleges across Canada, including one from the York Learning Skills Services team. PAW also offers a virtual study hall, resource library and opportunities to connect with students from across the country.
York's hockey teams hosted their annual PRIDE hockey games at Canlan Arena. Together with the Alphabet Sports Collective and Sport a Rainbow, this year's celebration brought together community members and York Lions fans with the message that hockey is for everyone.
Create Our Future

Athletics & Recreation held its annual academic awards banquet, highlighting achievements in the classroom. To qualify for a U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian award, varsity student-athletes must be both eligible to play (18+ credits) and earn an A- (80%) grade average or better.
