In May, Division of Students colleagues gathered for an event to pause, reconnect, and recharge. Vice-Provost Students, Yvette, celebrated DoS achievements, while the DoS Communications Team brought the fun with games and activities!

On April 30, @StudentLifeYorkU had a reel go viral on Instagram! With +651K views and +37k likes, it has doubled the number of views as our previous top post, which made waves in December 2024. Posts like these have helped lead to an increased average reach and engagement for the account in 2024-25.

The Student Government Conference took place in May, bringing together 119 students representing 18 student organizations. Student leaders participated in a variety of sessions about organizational governance, goals, vision and financial responsibility.

Athletics & Recreation hosted the annual Lions Cup golf tournament on Tuesday, May 27. This year's fundraising efforts set a new Lion's Cup record, raising a total of $166,000 through sponsorships and donations, which will provide financial assistance to York student athletes. 

Students, Nafanta Fadiga and Richard K.S. Wu will join the 5th cohort of McCall MacBain Scholars at McGill University. The Foundation also offered 95 entrance awards to top candidates not selected for the cohort. As a national finalist, York student Mira Bhattacharya earned a $10,000 award.
